Hats to top it all off:
Ok, Hollywood is trying to do a better job about portraying hats more correctly–However, I think it is hurts them to do so. Historic hats look pretty strange to our currently hatless heads. But, back in the Tudor day, one was just not completely dressed without his hat! Each status or profession had its own type of hat it wore.
For example, the clergy would have worn a square shaped cap. Flat caps began to become popular and in the portraits of Henry VIII his cap is flat and round and sits more on his head vs. square and covering his head.
