Men’s Tudor Era Fashion

And, next are the legs… Tights or hoses were worn from waist to feet. Breeches that came to mid thigh were put over that and were often puffy. (They didn’t always show under the doublet.)

I think its awesome that, in the TV series, The Tudors, Henry VII wears these breeches! To our modern eyes they look a bit silly, but men around the 1500s actually wore them! (It makes you wonder what we are wearing now that will look ludicrous to future generations?) You’ll see that like the sleeves the breeches had slashes and puffs on them also.
The correct name for these pants are breeches but my family knows them as, Tudor-poofy-pants. lol Not sure how the name got started, but it stuck.
